BMC: Advancing Public Discourse Around Assessment

June 15, 2022

Advancing Public Discourse Around Assessment

How can we evolve our conversations around assessment to promote deeper understanding of complex issues and actionable steps forward?

At this seminar, we will engage with various education stakeholders–from parents, to teachers, to admin and researchers. We’ll seek a nuanced understanding of how different perspectives and experiences shape social dialogue around assessment, and how we can leverage those to create solutions that work for everyone.

Keynote

Maureen O’Shaughnessy, EdD, is an author, podcast host, and founder of LEADPrep Academy, a Seattle-based micro-school with a 100% graduation rate. She is also the founder of the Micro-School Coalition, a supportive alliance for those seeking to transform education at a grassroots level through micro-schooling.

As a career school innovator with over 30 years of transforming learning in schools to better serve all students, Dr. O’Shaughnessy has an extensive understanding of the components needed to transform the education system.
