At our 2021 conference, our focus was on how to align present assessment realities with future possibilities.
Over the pandemic, emergency distributed learning arrangements supercharged digital assessment’s growth, both in the scale of delivery and scope of technology.
However, even with new developments, the pressure of immediate needs has, in many ways, compelled a reliance on familiar assessment approaches for the sake of ease and continuity.
Moving forward, a key challenge for advancing beyond multiple-choice lies in aligning the political and practical demands of existing assessment structures with the new techniques, tools, frameworks, and insights into learning that innovations have made possible.
